Macaroni Penguins

Macaroni Penguins

Macaroni Penguins inhabit the northern coastline of Antartica and the surrounding islands. These penguins get their name from their yellow plume or crest.

These penguins can reach up to 28 inches, or 70 cm, tall.

Macaroni Penguins build a nest out of pebbles, stone, and grass. Like other types of penguins, the female will lay two eggs at a time and the male and female will take turns sitting on the eggs keeping them safe and warm.

This penguin's main diet is fish and krill.
