Lucy Stone

Stone joined the New Jersey Woman Suffrage Association.Susan B. Anthony and Elizabeth Cady Stanton both opposed Stone for the 15 Amendment; but they reunited via National American Woman Suffrage Association.

With the help of William Lloyd Garrison, Stone joined the American Anti-Slavery Society.

Lucy Stone wanted to get an education. She made it a point to get into Oberlin College, and was the first lady to graduate college in her state, with honors.

She was born in West Brookfield in Massachusetts. She was an activist and abolitionist.

Lucy Stone died on October 18, 1893, in Dorchester, Massachusetts. But she never got to see the end of slavery, August 1920.
