LONDON
London, the capital of Britain, is in south-east England on the river Thames. It is a very cosmopolitan place and a leading world city. It's home to over 7.5 million people and is a mosaic of nationalities and cultures. It has the largest non-white population of any European city and the residents speak more than 300 different languages! That makes it the most linguistically diverse place in the world.
London was established by the Romans in 43AD as Londinium. It has a rich history and an unrivalled cultural and artistic heritage with historic buildings and treasures from all periods.
