Logarithms

Step 1: Let both sides be exponents of the base e. The equation Ln(x)=8 can be rewritten eLn(x)=e^8Step 2: By now you should know that when the base of the exponent and the base of the logarithm are the same, the left side can be written x. The equation can now be written x. The equation eLn(x)=e^8 can now be written x=e^8.Step 3: The exact answer is x=e^8.

Logarithms are the opposite of exponentials, just as subtraction is the opposite of addition and division is the opposite of multiplication. Logs undo exponentials. Technically speaking, logs are the inverses of exponents. y = b^x..............is equivalent to..............logb(y) = x.

Log2(4)=x is the same as 2^x=4

Ln(x) means Log(e)x
