CHALLENGES

TRENDS

Racial wealth gap reports continuation for generations, even after the victories of the Civil Rights Movement. Educators continue to be largely white, middle-class, and female.Gender disparities continue in American societyLatino, African-American, and Asian students in public K-12 schools is surpassing the number of white students.

Teach responsively and prepare children of all backgrounds to achieve their dreams. Educators must be knowledgable of the relationships between poverty, race/ethnicity, and how to meet student's needs regardless of ability.Hire teachers with an ethic of care.
