Music:The Rolling Stones
The Rolling Stones is an British boy band that was raising the charts by the late 1960s and sang hard blues rock and roll. The band consisted of 5 boys: Mick Jagger, Keith Richards, Ronnie Wood, Charlie Watts, and Brian Jones. These boys were one of the most popular bands in this time. One of their greatest hits was their song called "Temptation". The band as of right now occasionally play together from time to time.

President John F. Kennedy was the 35th President tio be elected into office. He was the youngest to be elected and the youngest to die. He served from 1961 to 1963. He was assassinated by a man named Lee Harvey Oswald. One of the most important events that happened while he was in office was the civil rights movement.
Fashion: Mini Skirts
In the 1960s, fashion was big. For classier women, they would wear mini skirts with boyish hair cuts. Many more would eventually start now wearing this when this became the wardrobe for everyone. Men would wear banlon shirts with longer hair. By the late 1960s, both men and women would be wearing bell bottom jeans, tie-dye shirts and glasses.
Sports
Sports in the 1960s were becoming increasingly popular but the sport that stood out the most was football-more importantly the NFL. The very first NFL in the U.S. was in January of 1967. The Green Bay Packers won the Super Bowl two years in a row. In the basketball league, the team that stood out most was the Boston Celtics. They won 9 out of 10 possible championships. In boxing, the star of it all was Muhammad Ali. He said anything and everthing that was on his mind.

Lassie is a movie about a young boy and his dog. Joe, the young companion of the dog, Lassie has troubling times at school and is having even more troubling times at school. Lassie must be returned to the duke because of Joes fathers working conditions. Lassie always finds her way back so they must keep returning her. When the move to Scotland, Lassie goes through a big journe to find her way home.
Symbols: The Smiley Face
The smiley face and the peace symbols werebig popular things in the 1960s. The smiley face was created by a man named Harvey Rose Ball in 1964. He originally made for a client fro his insurance company and once it aired, more than 50 million buttons were sold because it was so popular. The peace symbol was made in 1958 by a British man named Gerald Holtom and was intended to be for the DAC. This fad quickly spread in Britain and then in The United States and was used for the peace movement.
