Facts - He created the Zone of Proximal Development. (ZPD) - ZPD is the range of tasks that are too difficult to master alone but that can be learned with guidance and assistance.- He also believed learning "drove or lead development."

Facts Continued... - Social interaction with students and teachers influences learning.- Vygotsky believed "communication between teachers and children were very important when helping a child think about higher-level concepts as well as learn new concepts in general."- He created a assistant to ZPD for teaching called "Scaffolding."- Scaffolding- The process of providing various types of support, guidance, or direction during the course of an activity. (Ex. Parents helping their toddler to potty train is scaffolding them not to stay in pull-ups, but to know how to use the restroom.)
