The Tree of Constructivism is composed of a trunk of teachers who direct knowledge, learners that branch out into ways of creating knowledge, leaves that bud into individual pieces of kowledge, and roots that hold the tree, organize the learning, and nourish the tree with content. Knowledge changes over time and in different contexts just as weather changes and influences the living tree.

RealiaRealia (authentic artifacts from a culture) are important to include in a world language classroom. Students will be surrounded by a variety of realia and authentic music. Take a listen to some samples of music from Mexico. These songs were selected because they are songs that almost every Mexican knows - similar to "Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star" and "If You're Happy and You Know it..." in the United States. Simply press the "play" button!

Standards As with other professions, teachers are held to high standards. The State of Indiana has outlined what students should learn. These standards can be viewed by clicking the paper clip in the lower right corner and selecting World Language Standards.

Our classroom might look and feel a bit different than what you are accustomed to in other classes. Read this:Not only will students have alternative seating, but there will many opportunities to move around during classtime as we will be busy creating projects and learning from one another.
