Leadership of Joseph

Learning from Joseph By: Laura Bradley

Joseph had patience and integrity. Joseph was able to maintain his integrity because he was not concerned with what others thought. He did not consider the benefits or consequences of his actions based on what Potiphar, his master, might do.Genesis 39:9 says,“How then can I do this great wickedness, and sin against God?Later Joseph is made second in command over all of Egypt. Why? Because he was not afraid to be himself and hard work.

He taught people what it was like to grom the bottom to the top. His faith makes him a hero. He knew the dreams he was having were from the Lord and that they revealed God’s purpose and plans for his life. Genesis 37:6-7 says: “And he [Joseph] said unto them [his family], Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance [bowed] to my sheaf.”

Leadership of Joseph

Although Joseph followed his dreams he finds himself in the middle of favoritism, envy, betraly, and deceit. He found himself in some unkind situations.

Joseph's story is full of wisdom. Through the good times and the bad Joseph never gave up on his dream. He worked hard for what he believed in. He knew God had a plan for him and he sat out to accomplish his dreams. You can learn many lessons from his story. Never give up on what you truly believe in even if the people around you don't agree.
