Language Arts

Language Arts (otherwise known as English) is a class in which students improve their abilities of reading comprehension as well as writing. Some Language Arts classes may include grammar skills as well as essay assignments or reading assignments. Each Language Arts class varies, however a Language Arts teacher must follow a certain curriculum.

Composition, by definition, is the combination of distinct parts or elements to form a whole, including the manner in which these elements are combined or related. Examples of composition include composing a piece of literary work, the structure or organization of literature, or a short essay.

Reading, by definition, is the ability to comprehend a language in the written or printed form. Often assignments are given to read texts ranging from a paragraph to an enire novel, often answering questions that follow.

Reading

Literacy is said to have emerged around 8,000 BCE. Script developed independently in Egypt, Mesopotamia, Mesoamerica, and China. Although the earliest forms of written communication were around 3,500-3,000 BCE in Sumer, Mesopotamia.

Truth be told, one does not have to have such an obvious talent (such as an athlete) to create an impact. Writers such as William Shakespeare, Edgar Allan Poe, Emily Dickinson, etc. all have the gift of literature. Their authentic words have influenced and inspired many, continuing to do so today.
