The Komodo Dragon, also known as the Komodo Monitors or the ora (Indonesian), live on the islands Komodo, Flores, Rinca, and Gili Motang of Indonesia. Komodo Dragons live in arid grasslands, savannas, and monsoon forests in lowland. The Komodo Dragons can grow up to 7 1/2 feet in length and 200 to 250 pounds.

Komodo Dragon: a heavily built monitor lizard that captures large prey such as pigs by ambush. Occurring only on Komodo and neighboring Indonesian islands, it is the largest living lizard.

The Scientific name of the Komodo Dragon: Varanus komodoensis
