Korean Dynasties
Southeast Asia lies between the Indian and Pacific oceans and stretches from Asia almost to Australia. It consists of two parts Indochina and the islands which include Sumatra,Borneo, and Java. Seas and straits separate the islands of Southeast Asia.Korea is located on a peninsula that jutsout from the Asian mainland toward Japan.
The Khmer Empire
The Khmer Empire was for centuries the main power on the Southeast Asian mainland. This empire reigned around 1200. The empire built impressive irrigation systems and waterways. Angkor Wat is one of the worlds greatest achievments in architectural history. It was built as a symbolic mountain dedicated to the Hindu god Vishnu.

Culture and Trade
On Southeast Asia’s islands powerful kingdoms started to develop. Buddhist temple at Borobudur was built around 800 and was very similar to Angkor Wat because it reflects strong Indian influence.

Indian merchant ships began arriving in Southeast Asia. Hindu and Buddhist missionaries spread there faith to the people and the region.
According to a Korean legend the first Korean state was founded by a hero named Tan'gun. In early Korea Different clans or tribes controlled different parts of the country. The Koryu Dynasty was a dynasty run by a powerful king named Wang Kon that lasted from 935 to 1392.
