Treatment
What is it?
The body’s own immune system-which normally fights harmful bacteria & viruses- mistakenly destroys the insulin-producing(islet) cells in the pancreas. Genetics may play a certain role in this process; exposure to certain environmental factors, such as viruses, may trigger the disease.

-While type 1 diabetes can't be prevented, some research suggests that breastfeeding, avoiding early introduction of solid foods, and other factors might play a role in lowering the risk of developing the disease.People who have type 1 diabetes can help prevent or delay the development of complications by keeping their blood sugar in a target range. They also need regular medical checkups to detect early signs of complications.
