How Julius Got Into the Role as Ruler of Rome
In 60 B.C. Julius was campaigning for consulship. At this time he struck a deal with Pompey the Great and Crassus. The three of them were known as the First Triumvirate. The three of them then went on to control Rome throughout the 50s B.C.
The Plot to Kill Julius Caesar: Due to this, two men from the Roman Senate led the plan to assassinate Julius Cesar. The two men were named Gaius Cassius Longinus and Marcus Junius Brutus.
As time went on politicians started to become envious of Julius, and they were concerned about the power he was gaining.
Death: Julius Caesar was stabbed and killed on March 15th 44 B.C., on the Ides of March. The killing took place close to the Theatre of Pompey.
