The Black Rhino eats over 200 plants in 50 families.

The Rhino continuse to face threats from poaching for the International Rhino horn trade. There are two main uses of Rhino horn; in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) and for ornately carved dagger handles (Jambiyas) worn as a male status symbol in some Middle Eastern countries. The Black Rhino is classified as critically endagered (IUCN Red list of Threatened - CR A2abc). Black Rhino have been listed CITES Appendix since 1977.

Black rhinos have a reputation for unprovoked agression. How ever when left alone they rarely initiate a an attack.
