Johnnie Rebecca Daniels Carr

Johnnie Rebecca Daniels was born on January 26,1911.She suffered a massive stroke and died on February February 22, 2008.

She became President of the Montgomery Improvement Association in 1967.She was active in many clubs including the NAACP.

She attended the Montgomery Industrial School for African-American girls.That is where she met Rosa Parks and they became friends.She gave a speech at the Women's Auxiliary of the Baptist State convention.

She got married at the age of 16 to Jack Jordan.Civil rights pioneer and U.S. Representive John Lewis,D-Ga.,said, "Mrs.Carr must be looked on as one of of the founders of a new America because she was there with Rosa Parks,E.D. Nixon,Martin Luther King Jr. and so many others."
