The Open Classroom:Large groups of students of varying ability in single classroom. Students are typically divided into different groups for each subject according to their skill level for that subject. The students then work in small groups to achieve their assigned goal. Teachers served as both facilitators and instructors. Advocates argued that students should be allowed to learn in ways suited to theri individual differences and that the most effectice teaching and learning strategies allow teachers to work collaboratively with each other and team teach.
