John D. Rockefeller

Standard OilStandard Oil was made by John D. Rockefeller. It was one the largest oil company and until it was declared a monopoly and was broken up into 34 companies. It allowed Rockefeller to be the the first US billionaire. With inflation, the wealth he had was valued at over 300 billion dollars.

Standard oil was taken away from co-founder Samuel Andrews and was bought from the Clark Brothers. Eventually, the small oil company had been consumed by the incredible avarice of a single person. The amount of wealth that Rockefeller had made a huge impact on the US economy. Rockefeller was one of the wealthiest people in the world and employed quite a few people. Standard Oil was a huge player in the economy.
