Joan's death was very gruesome. She was burned at stake on May 30th, 1431. Before her death she was threatened with tortures. 25 years after her execution, she was found innocent by the Pope. Her executioner, Geoffrey Therage, feared that he would be tortured for executing Joan.
Joan of Arc (or Jeanne d'Arc), lived from the year 1412 to 1431, and was born in Domremy, Duchy of Bar, a village in France. She died at the age of 19. Joan of Arc inspires women, men, authors, and artists through her rebellious act. At 17 years, Joan commanded the French army. In a few months she reversed a war, where the French were doomed.
