Jim Abbott's Iceberg Model

He had a dream...

''I learned to play baseball...playing catch with my Dad... we had to come up with a method to throw and catch with the same hand. What we came up with, is basically what I continued to do my whole life...."

Jim Abbott is a one-handed baseball pitcher and a professional motivational speaker

Jim is an inspiration to all that meet him or have followed his career. More than his no-hitter, his 13 strike out game, a seven game winning streak, overcoming an eleven game losing streak, he became a great baseball player and a great person.

''I learned to switch the glove off and on with my Dad when I was 4 years old and gradually made adjustments". Abbott spent hours as a youngster bouncing a ball off a wall to practice fielding as well as throwing.

"I promise, if you have passion, you will find a way to do what needs to be done. There is nothing that can hold you back!"

'' I was born without my right hand...growing up I loved sports..."

''Find something you love, and go after it, with all of your heart...''Jim Abbott

Jim Abbott has battled the odds his entire life.
