Jazz

Jazz was originated by the Americans, In New Orleans to be exact early 20th century, but its roots can be found in the musical traditions of both Africa and Europe. In fact, some people say that jazz is a union of African and European music. From African music, jazz got its: rhythm and "feel.“ what Jazz got from the Europeans are their instruments such as the saxophone , trumpet, piano etc. Jazz spans a period of over a hundred years, encompassing a range of music from ragtime to that of the present day, and has proved to be very difficult to define. Jazz makes heavy use of improvisation, polyrhythms, and the swung note, as well as aspects of European harmony, and African musical elements such as blue notes and ragtime. The birth of jazz is now a famous world-wide genre of music.

Jazz

Jazz is not only the type of music you hear in a club. Sometimes you might be listening to jazz without noticing. For example, a rock band called "My Chemical Romance" once used jazz in one of their songs. For instance, the song called "Teenagers." You might not notice it because it was combine with rock.

Jazz is a very difficult type of music to learn. Jazz doesn’t really have a pattern. For example, normal music like pop or rap or hip-hop has a rhythm or an organized chord family. Music notes are C D E F G A B C, or as many you may heard Do Re Mi Fa Sol La Si Do. Each chord has a family, for example; the family of C is C F G Am Em Dm. That is the way every musician would get the chords of a song, by following their family. Jazz in the other hand is very disorganized but the musician always find a way to make it sound marvelous.

Buddy BoldenBuddy Bolden is told to be the person who invented Jazz. He said it was a combination of ragtime and the Blues.
