InterestingsFactsThere were total nine periods in japan civilization. The Jomon Period was the first period of japan civilization. The Japan civilization started at 11,000 BCE. The development of pottery and ceramics happened mostly during the Jomon Period. Japanese used to live by fishing, hunting and gathering. In 794 A.D., the leaders in Japan created the new capital city. It was named Heian Kyo which nowadays called Kyoto. There were different clans in different areas in japan. Those clans were ruled by the chiefs.
