Biography- Born on February 11, 1939 in New York City- After college, Yolen wanted to become a poet, journalist, and nonfiction writer- 1st book: Pirates in Petticoats- Maried David Stemple in 1962- Three children and six grandchildren- Stemple passed away in 2006- Yolen has won several awards for Science Fiction and Fantasy Literature, Jewish Literature, and her book Owl Moon won a Caldecott Medal
