Jane Goodall

Jane Goodall was born April 3, 1934 in London. She is 81 years old. Her original name was Valerine but she changed to her middle name Jane.

Jane Goodall wanted for stealing a chimpanzee from a zoo. Reward: get to play with a monkey for free.

Jane gave every chimpanzee she observed a unique name based on their personality. Also she established the Jane Goodall Institute in 1977. She was married twice and has one son.

Basic Information

Jane Goodall found chimps have different personalities and show emotions just like humans. She also found out that chimpanzees use grass and twigs as tools. For example she saw that they would get bugs to get on the stick and then eat them off the twig.

Additional Information

Jane was known for studying chimpanzees. She was the first person to study chimpanzees in the wild everyone would study them in zoos but, she had to work as a secretary and waitress to get money to go to Africa.
