Jamaica is located in the Caribbean Sea, north of Cuba and west of Hispaniola. Haiti and the Dominican Republic is also located near Jamaica. It is in the Northern Hemisphere

HOW RISKY IS IT TO LIVE IN JAMIACA:

First of all, Jamaica has many natural disasters happening every year. Normally in June to November is hurricane season in the Caribbean sea. Jamaica is also a very risky place to live in because it is not on a continental plate.

MOST COMMON NATURAL DISASTER. WHY?

WHAT HISTORIC NATURAL DISASTER HAS JAMIACA FACED?:

7 June, 1692:-Port Royal earthquake occurred.-Approximately at 20 minutes to 2- the villagers heard a loud, thunderous sound.- Earth began to shake.- There were 3 shocks- Many huts and houses began to tumble down to the earth's surface, the sea rushed in and out quickly, the water coming back in over the surface, drowning thousands of people.- Many aftershocks happened that day and days after.- Great land slides occurred

Every year many disasters happen here, such as, hurricanes and earthquakes. About 200 earthquakes happen in and around Jamaica annually. Hurricanes occur from about 1 June to 30 November. Peak seasons for hurricanes - August to October. Mainly in August, hurricanes occur in Jamaica.
