Born in 1963, Jaqueline Woodson grew up in Greenville, S.C. A prolific young adult literature writer, she has penned 30 books. Unafraid to tackle controversial issues, her work covers a range of themes including racism, classism, gay/lesbian identity, teen pregnacy, death, adoption, and drug use. Woodson currently lives in New York with her partner and two children, Toshi Georgianna and Jackson-Leroi.
