STYLE

Jack Kerouac's style was inspired by Jazz, but hereffered to his own style as "spontaneous prose." He mainly wrote autobiographical novels aboutevents that had actually occured in his life, withreal people whom he had intereacted with. On theother hand, his work did seem very spontaneous. He didn't even bother to edit his own work, some--one else always did it for him!

RELATION TO WORLD AROUND HIM

Kaylene Meyer

Jack Kerouac's style of writing relates a lot to the way he was living his life as an author. Since he wrote autobiographies about real things that went on in his life, the world around him is reflected into his work. For instance, he referrs to his own style as "spontaneous." That is exactly how Kerouac lived his life; Spontaneously. His first novel, On The Road, is even about his random spontaneous trip across the country.

"Happiness consists in realizing it is all a great strange dream"
