Le Fanu began to writer novels and storys of mistery and suspense, his novels is of gothic tradition.Between his novels point: The house by the churchyard Carmilla, The uncle Silas.Le fanu, is one of the great masters universal terror. Le Fanu enshrines the vampire in the genre of the novel, setting the road for Bram Stoker and his novel Dracula.

Carmilla portrays the vampire women, in the that a strange power of fascination, grace, and beauty is mixed with more inconceivable monstrosity.

Le Fanu was a writer, his first paper were marked by his interest for the folklore irihs.First Le Fanu collaborated in the magazine of the University of Dublin and in 1837 he worked in the ballot of the magazine and after that he was the publisher and owner.Le Fanu turned publication in to an important european magazine.
