His family only followed him at first because the rich people thought he would overthrow them. When he went to a different city, he got more followers and created the Quran.

Most Christians believe Christ will return at the end of the world. Muslims believe were recorded, verbatim, by the god's last prophet, Muhammad

Christianity broadly consists of individuals who believe in the deity Jesus Christ. Islam consists of individuals who believe in Allah

The group now known as Sunnis chose Abu Bakr, the prophet's adviser, to become the first successor, or caliph, to lead the Muslim state. Shiites favored Ali, Muhammad's cousin and son-in-law. Ali and his successors are called imams, who not only lead the Shiites but are considered to be descendants of Muhammad.

Born in 570 A.D. in the Arabian city of Mecca, Muhammad was orphaned at an early age.He was raised under the care of his paternal uncle Abu Talib. After his childhood Muhammad primarily worked as a merchant. He would retreat to a cave named Hira in the mountains for several nights of seclusion and prayer.At age 40, he reported being visited by an angel telling him to start a religion.
