Is there another planet like Earth

March 2009, the space agency launched the Kepler Mission, a NASA Discovery program designed to look for possible life-supporting planets.

Is There Another Planet Like Earth?

for space and survival would regard such a planet as a potential "new home" for mankind.

On November 4, 2013, astronomers reported, based on Kepler space mission data, that there could be as many as 40 billion Earth-sized planets orbiting in the habitable zones of sun-like stars and red dwarf stars within the Milky Way galaxy.

NASA announced the discovery of the first truly Earth-like planet. This find comes thanks to the Kepler Space Telescope, which was launched in March 2009 and has been planet hunting for the last 5 years.

A planetary system 1200 light years from Earth may contain two worlds entirely covered by global oceans. Kepler 62e and 62f are in the habitable zone of a roughly Sun-like star. Each planet is slightly larger than Earth.
