Intellecual Disability is when a person has certain limitations in mental functioning and in skills such a communication, taking care of him or herself, and social skills.

Accomodations
1. Recognize that you can make an enormous difference in this student’s life!2. Be an active participant in the student’s IEP team.3. Give the student extra time to complete an assignment or test.4. Have the student work in a small group or with a partner.5. Provide the student with teacher notes or taped lectures.6. Break a lesson up into smaller parts, having the student work with a tutor7. Allow the student to respond orally or on a computer.8. Give immediate feedback.9. Communicate with your student’s parents.10. Involve the student in group activities or clubs.
