Integration Of Baseball

One of the most influential figures in the integration of baseball, Branch Rickey (pictured left) was the first to break the "color-barrier" and sign African-American Jackie Robinson

People began to see African-American atheletes as sports heroes they could look up to just as they would with any other race of player.

In 1946, Jackie Robinson(left) became the first African-American player in the MLB.

Ever since the integration of baseball, organizations have opened their doors to all races of players.
