what is INSOMNIA?

Insomnia is adisorder in whicha person strugglesto or cannot sleepat all.

There are 2 types of insomnia:Primary insomnia is caused by stress related or emotional turmoilSecondary insomnia is caused by chronic illness or disease, arthritis, caffeine, medications, and other substances

Insomnia can be caused by:StressDepressionPost-traumatic stress disorderThyroid disordersInterference w/ sleep scheduleSubstance abuse

Symptoms include:Waking up too earlyDifficulty falling asleepMood swingsFeeling tired and agitatedHeadachesLowered cognitive ability

If you have insomnia, you should keep a sleep log and write down how many hours of sleep you got that night. Also, you could eat a lighter meal before bed and lessen the amount of calories you take in. If your insomniac symptoms persist, talk to a doctor and work out a plan
