The Indian Ocean Tsunami is considered one of the biggest and most dirtructive tsunamis ever.

What happenedFirst, a mini earthquake struck in the Indian OceanThe earthquake caused a giant wave to come racing towards the Indian Ocean coasts.50ft waves , came crashing over more than 11 countries, traveling 3,000 miles, and generating enough energy to power the U.S for 6 months. By the time it was over, more than 150 thousand people were dead or missing, and the dead started to rot in the tropical heat. With no food, no water, and empty wounds, the risk of famine and epidemic diseases were high. Islands such as the Maldives, were completely submerged in water, but surrounding coral reefs protected many people from the deaadly wave. The tsunami had demolished property from Thailand, to Africa. Millions, were left homeless.
