[2014] HUNTER RHOADS (Jardine 2014-15): Hunter's

Roy Halladay is one of the best pitchers in the wonderful world of baseball but he is not very well known. After 12 seasons of playing with the Toronto Blue Jays, he never got to pitch in the playoffs. Ever since Roy was born he loved baseball. His favorite book was Nolan Ryan's handbook. Nolan was known for pitching really hard and Roy wanted to live up to him. Roy was born on May 14, 1977, in Denver, CO. They moved to Pennsylvania when Roy was young. His father built a batting cage in their basement to help Roy improve in baseball especially pitching. In 2010 the Toronto Blue Jays traded Roy to the Phillies. Roy threw some of the most perfect games in history.[a perfect game is when no runners get on base]


1977 - born in Denver, CO1995- graduated from high school and the Toronto Blue Jays selected him.1995- started class AAA in baseball 1998- moved to major leagues because of his good pitching. 2ooo- He got moved down to class AAA in baseball because he struck out 44 batters and walked 42 2002- moved back up to majors and was pitching better than ever.

Lasting Impact

Roy is one of the best pitchers ever and he always creates excitement in the crowd when he pitches.

Highlight Reel

Halladay pitch-hit his first major league game when he was just 21. He became the third youngest pitcher in the world. Roy threw more perfect games then most other pitchers ever.
