How technologie has changed-The television

Alexander Bain introduced the fascimile transmisson systems for still photographs and sevral diffrent methods of mechanical scanning of images in the early 19th century. The mechanical television system that relies on a mechanical scanning device such as a rotating disk with holes in it or a rotating mirror, to scan the scene and generate the video signal, and a similar, mechanical device at the receiver to display the picture. Philo Taylor Fransworth successfully demonstrated the mechanical television in San Francisco on September 7, 1927.


The development of cable television and satellite television in 1970s allowed more channels and encouraged businessmen to target programming toward specific audiences.

Electronic/Color television (1929- 1950)

Electronic television- Valdmir Zworykin was experimenting with cathode ray tube to create and show images and was demonstrates electronic television in 1929. Color television- The basic idea of using color image had been experimented with as soon as black-and-white had first been built. Alexander Bain had started work on a fully electronic systeme called ``Telechrome." Telechrome used two guns electronic guns aimed at either side of phosphors plate, using cyan and magenta phosphors, a reasonable limited-color image could be obtained. Work on the Telechrome continued and plans were made to introduced a three-gun version for full color.
