HORSES

The domestication of the horse signaled a major innovationin transport and communication. People could travel farther and carry more with them, they also went faster. The history of the horse goes back to about 55 million years ago, to a very small animal about the size of a baby lamb. They are call Hyracotherium that evolved as part of mammalian radiation following the extinction of the dinosaurs. This ancestor of the horse lived in tropical rain forests in north america. Horses used to be wild like zebras, and hunted for food. But at some point no one knows exactly when humans started to eye horses as more that just food. They began to be tamed and domesticated. They were then used for transportation mainly.
