Odysseus and his crew escape from The Land of the Dead only to encounter a Cyclops!The name of the Cyclops is Polyphemus. He is blinded by Odysseus from a wooden stake. Blinding the Cyclops allows Odysseus and his crew escape.

Important quote:"Sing to me of the man, Muse, the man of twists and turns driven time and again off course, once hea plundered the hallowed heights of Troy."Odysseus Leaves Troy: The Journey!The story begins 10 years after the end of the Trojan War.All Greek heroes have returned home; except for Odysseus.Odysseus is trapped on the Island of Ogygia by the Goddess Calypso who has fallen in love with Odysseus.While Odysseus is trying to escape Ogygia, suitors in Ithica are trying to court his wife and take over his Kingdom.

After fighting the Cyclops Polyphemus and escaping with his crew, Odysseus ties himself to the Mast as he wanted to hear the song of the Sirens.The Sirens are women who sing an enchanting song that caused sailors to steer toward the rocks, only to hit them and sink.Odysseus' men filled their ears wth Beeswax as to not hear the singing and steered themselves away from the sirens. Having dodged the Sirens Odysseus and his men steered right into thepath of a six-headed monster named Scylla and the whirlpool Charybdis. Odysseus lost six men to Scylla, and landed on the island of Thrinacia

20 Years Later:Odysseus' wife Penelope asks the suitors courting her to compete for her hand in an archery competition using Odysseus' bow.Odysseus takes part in this competition; he is the only one strong enough to pull back the bow. Odysseus is the only one who pulls back the bow, shoots the arrow through a dozen axe heads, and he wins the competition. After winning the competition Odysseus turns to the suitors and kills them all, before identifying himself to Penelope.Penelope does not believe Odysseus at first and gives him a quiz. She asks about their bed, only Odysseus would know the answer. When Odysseus answers that their bed was made from an olive tree still rooted to the ground, she believes him and finally accepts that he is back!
