Having dodged the Sirens Odysseus and his men steered right into thepath of a six-headed monster named Scylla and the whirlpool Charybdis. Odysseus lost six men to Scylla, and landed on the island of Thrinacia

20 Years Later:Odysseus' wife Penelope asks the suitors courting her to compete for her hand in an archery competition using Odysseus' bow.Odysseus takes part in this competition; he is the only one strong enough to pull back the bow. Odysseus is the only one who pulls back the bow, shoots the arrow through a dozen axe heads, and he wins the competition. After winning the competition Odysseus turns to the suitors and kills them all, before identifying himself to Penelope.Penelope does not believe Odysseus at first and gives him a quiz. She asks about their bed, only Odysseus would know the answer. When Odysseus answers that their bed was made from an olive tree still rooted to the ground, she believes him and finally accepts that he is back!
