HIV is a virus that attacks the immune system, the body's natrual defense system. Without a strong immune system, the body has trouble fighting off the disease. Botht he virus and the infection it causes are called HIV.

-Fever-Swollen glands-Sore throat-Rash-Fatigue-Muscle and joint aches and pain-Headache
There is a treament for HIV called Antiretroviral therapy (ART). People on this take this medicine everyday but this medication only helps them live longer with a healthier life. It DOES NOT get rid of HIV OR AIDS!
More than 1.2 miillion people in the U.S are living with HIV infection and almost 1 in 8 (12.8%) are unaware of their infection.
There is no vaccine to prevent HIV infection and no cure for AIDS. Only possible to protect yourself and others from infection.
