Schutzstaffel means protection squadron. Schutzstaffel was divided into two company. The first of these was Waffen-SS, and second one was Allgemeine-SS. Waffen-SS included over 38 divisions. Allgemeine-SS was divided into two squads. These were SS-Verfügungstruppe (motorized unit) and SS-Totenkopfverbände (This unit responsible for administering the Nazi concentration camps for The Third Reich.)

High-ranking SS officers had a special headquarters. This base was in Wewelsburg Castle. Designers built a secret temple under the castle. Heinrich Himmler wanted to create an eternal fire in the center of temple. This fire was dedicated to them who participated in SS.

Also, Schutzstaffel means Schwarze Sonne (SS). Black Sun was a symbol of esoteric and occult significance.

SS uniforms were designed by Hugo Boss corporation from 1932 to 1942. SS officer caps included The III.Reich Eagle and Totenkopf (Skull with bones) symbols. They also had Nazi armband (It included Swastika symbol). Some of SS officers wore a special belt that was a secret weapon. They had a special dagger that represented their military branches, such as Heer, Kriegsmarine, and Luftwaffe.

Gestapo was the official secret state police of the SS. They belonged to Heinrich Himmler, and they worked for him. Their duties were finding traitors and spies.
