What was the signifigance of Hitler Youth?

What were the members of Hitler Youth taught?-They were taught that the Aryan race was superior to all others. They were also taught that people with blond hair and blue eyes were the "purest" Aryans.-Boys were trained for military life, while girls were trained to become good wives and mothers. Hitler also taught girls not to smoke, drink, or wear a lot of makeup.-Hitler youth was taught that physical health is very important.-They were also taught to always obey their leaders.

How were kids in Hitler Youth recruited?-There were propaganda leaflets for Hitler Youth.-They used uniforms, flags, bands, badges, weapons, and stories about heros to appeal to kids.-Hitler eliminated all youth groups except for Hitler Youth. -In 1936, Hitler passed a law saying all healthy Germans had to be educated on the beliefs of the Nazi Party.

How did Hitler convince so many kids to believe his ideas?-They enrolled kids at a very young age.-They were taught Hitler's ideas everywhere, even in school.-History taught in school was rewritten to emphasize Nazi values.-There were Hitler youth radio brodcasts on Nazi stations that the kids listened to.

Who was in the Hitler Youth?-Boys age 6-21.-Girls age 10-21.-In 1935 60% of Germany's youth belonged to Hitler Youth.-All the children in Hitler Youth had to be healthy and of proven "Aryan" descent.

What did the children in Hitler Youth do?-The boys played sports and military games.-Everything they did was some sort of competition.-At Hitler Youth meetings they sang, played games, learned slogans, and listened to readings. They also went hiking and camping.

What was the role of Hitler Youth in World War II?-Children from Hitler Youth enforced Hitler's beliefs, values, and laws.-Some children even turned in their own parents for disobeying or insulting Hitler. When that happened, the parents were sometimes sent to concentration camps.
