1930s
1930s fashion was greatly influenced by the Great Depression after the stock market crash of 1929. People adopted new mentality's about what could be used for clothing. To save money, people made clothing out of materials such as flour sacks.
Hemlines continued to grow shorter so that they were just below the knee by the end of the end of the decade. One of the reasons to shorten hemlines was so that less material would be used, causing a lesser cost. In addition, women's clothing gained a more feminine shape. The boxy, shapeless style of the 1920s was no longer.
Shoulder pads became a trend in the 1930s, in addition to the rise of more uniform-like clothing
