He was born on Oct. 3, 1788. 1807- Married Teresa Correa y Correa. 1814-1817 :He was jailed for criticizing spanish rule over Mexico. 1822–1824: Served in the Mexican Constituent Congress1824–1826: Served in the Mexican Senate November 12, 1831- He married Emily West. He was governor of Mexico from 1826 to 1828 and again from Dec. 1832 - Oct 1833. He died on Nov. 15, 1836.

Lorenzo De Zavala



A Texas Leader and Mexican Politician

De Zavala played a important role in Texas' battle for independence from Mexico.

Zavala's first wife was Teresa Correa y Correa, whom he married in Yucatán in 1807 and they had 3 children. She passed away in the spring of 1831. He married again to Emily West and they had 3 children.
