Both religions founded in India. (Buddhism was founded in Lumbini which was part of India but now is part of Nepal).
Buddhism founded by Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha), no single founder of Hinduism
Belief that wanting things causes pain and meditation results in peace and happiness.
Belief in reincarnation (the soul/spirit begins life in a new form after death).
Belief in karma (a person's past actions determine the future).
Hinduism has more than twice as many followers as Buddhism (950 million versus 400 million)
Buddhists have no god, Hindus have many gods.
Buddhists have hundreds of sacred texts, Hindus have one collection of texts known as the Vedas.
Hinduism dominant in South East Asia (mainly India and Nepal), Buddhism is dominant in South Asia (mainly Thailand, Burma, and Camobodia).
