Heston Blumenthal

Heston Blumenthal was born in Buckinghamshire, UK, on the 27/05/1966. Heston is an amazing, self-taught, English chef renowned for perfecting and experimenting with unique foods and recipes. Heston has had no formal training, except a week in Raymond Blanc’s kitchen. He completely taught himself by researching a repertoire of French cuisines and research excursions to Gallic restaurants or suppliers at any opportunity. Meanwhile, Heston spent ten years in a menial set of day-jobs, including a photocopier salesman and debt collector.

In 1995, he and his wife, Zanna Blumenthal, bought a 450 year old pub in Bray, Berkshire. This pub, which was to be the world-famous restaurant, The Fat Duck, had no view, an outside toilet and was home to the surrounding area’s outlawed drunks. Heston has starred in many TV shows and has authored many books to get where he is today.

F: His first restuaraunt is called The Fat Duck.O: I love this name, it is original but fits perfectly!3. F: The Fat Duck has been awarded 3 Michelin stars.O: I think it's like an underdog story becuase it used to be a 400yr old pub.4. F: Heston beleives food is a multisensory experience.O: I completely agree with him, food isnt just about the taste.5. F: Heston has published nine books.O: I think it's great that he has learnt so much for himself that he also shares his newfound information.
