Facts-City in the province of Naples, Italy.-Destroyed by an earthquake in 62 A.D.-Mount Vesuvius eruption in 79 A.D. buried the city along with Pompeii.-16 meters of mud and ash buried the city, preserving it.-Rediscovered in 1709, excavated in 1874.- Findings include furniture, bath houses, homes, religious buildings, and bodies.
