- Jaundice (yellow skin and eyes)- Feeling tired- Stomach ache- Nausea (the state that precedes vomiting)- Diarrhea- No appetite - Fever- Headaches- some young infected individuals may have no symptoms
Symptoms
- person to person contact- from contaminated food or water- not washing hands after going to the toilet- eating non-cooked foods- not by sneezing, cough, hugging, or being near the infected person

- Bed rest- abstaining from alcohol- taking medication- Paracetamol can help relieve any abdominal pain

Paracetamol
- Hepatitis A vaccine - washing hands well- eating only freshly cooked foods- adequate supplies of safe drinking water
Prevention
- based upon their signs or symptoms, a physical examination, and blood testing- may also need to biospy to see if there is liver damage
