This timeline shows the marriages of King Henry VIII over the course of his reign from 1509-1537.

Time Line


Anne Boleyn was Henry's second wife. They had a daughter, Elizabeth, but Henry fell in love with Jane Seymour. He accused Anne of having an affair, and chopped off her head!

Jane Seymour was the love of Henry's life. He married her and they had his only son, Prince Edward. But Jane died shortly after giving birth, and Henry had to find a new wife.

Kathryn Parr was Henry's last wife. She looked after him when he began to get ill and she outlived him.Look at the video for a fun song to help you remember the Kings and Queens of England!

Henry fell in love with a picture painted of Anne. But when he saw her on their wedding day, he thought she was ugly! He quickly divorced her!

After divorcing Anne, Henry was quick to marry Catherine Howard. But she did have an affair... so off came her head!

Catherine and Henry were married for over 20 years. They had only one daughter, Mary, which made Henry angry. He divorced her to marry Anne- and broke away from the Catholic Church to do so.
