My invention was the Model T car in 1908 and the assembly line.

Ford was born in Greenfield Township, Michigan on July 30, 1863.Ford died onApril 7, 1947.

When Ford was 15 years old, his dad gave him a pocket watch. He took it apart and put it back together 12 times. This began his creative thinking.

Ford was born to William and Mary Ford on a farm that his father wanted him to take over. He did not like farming and left home after his mother died. In 1879, Ford moved to Detroit and became a machinist. Ford studied bookkeeping. In 1891, he began personal experiments on gasoline engines. This led to his ultimate invention of the automobile.

Ford's cars and assembly lines changed the world by speeding up production and decreasing costs. His inventions resulted in roads being built and helped the steel and rubber industries grow. His net worth from Ford Motor was estimated at 188.1 billion in 2008.
