Style Of Art
Some important people in my artist's life were two painters named Felix Auguste-Clement and Jean-Leon Gerome and they gave him advice on painting. Also, soldiers from the French Expedition were important because they described tropical landscapes for him since he had never visited one. Last but not least, Alfred Jarry, a writer, was important because he let Henri Rousseau paint in a magazine and that helped Henri Rousseau become famous.
Henri Rousseau is a French Post-Impressionist. An impressionist that paints with quick strokes that look a little messy.
Important People
Rousseau painted this way because of the stories that heard from the soldiers who lived through The French Expedition from Mexico fro 1862 to 1865. They would tell him about the tropical land and would describe it in detail. Rousseau painted tropical landscapes with animals.
Some important events in my artist's life were serving in the military, his father's death, and his job as a tax collector, which gave him time to paint.
